eRoom Development Kits (eDKs)
EMC eRoom Development Kits (eDKs) are packaged sample code offerings that assist developers in building eRoom applications. eDKs enable easier integration into existing information technology infrastructures. Each eDK includes source code, documentation, eRoom templates, and custom code, and requires registration on the EMC Documentum Developer Program site.
By using EMC Documentum eDKs, developers can reuse components and rapidly advance in application design, resulting in faster development time and improved application performance for their organizations.
Available eDKs include:
- eDK for Workflow — Perform tasks on an eRoom server within EMC Documentum workflows. This eDK provides resources for accessing and remotely executing tasks to create an eRoom, add members, create eRoom items, and create object links. The eDK for Workflow also allows developers to automate the process of checking files in or out of Content Server and eRoom Enterprise. As a result, application developers can build workflow process templates that automate related collaboration activities.
- eDK for Collaborative Search — Enable bi-directional integration between eRoom and ECI Services. With this integration, end users can export query results from an ECI Services client into an eRoom workspace as well as conduct ECI Services search queries directly within their eRooms. In both cases, the integration facilitates the process of sharing search results with project team members to provide visibility and gather collaborative input on the results set.
- eDK for Microsoft Project — Import resources, task assignments, and schedule data from Microsoft Project directly into an eRoom database. Using a simple wizard-driven interface, project managers can import data from Microsoft Project Professional into an eRoom project plan or database object without requiring manual data transition. This eDK also supports one-click import and export of data from Microsoft Project Server through its Web services interface. As a result, information gaps between project managers and team members are eliminated and improved schedule and resource visibility are assured for all project participants.
- eDK for BEA WebLogic Portal — Display eRoom portlets within BEA's portal architecture. Four portlets are available as part of this eDK: My eRooms, My Tasks, My Items, and Program Dashboard. Each eRoom portlet is designed for rapid deployment into BEA WebLogic Portal — with minimal configuration — and can be customized to meet specific application requirements.
