Governor Patrick's Readiness Project

In June of 2007, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick asked Joe Tucci to co-chair the Readiness Project, a statewide initiative involving over 200 educators, business leaders, and community leaders. Together, they will develop a 10-year strategic plan for education in Massachusetts—from pre-K through university, both public and private. The focus points for Tucci and the business community include:
  • Greater emphasis on math and science
  • Early education
  • Charter schools
  • Formal partnership of private and public university systems
  • High school graduation requirements, including a passing score on the MCAS exam
